I stopped drinking alcohol three decades ago. Since then, it’s hard to feel that I am drinking something serious when I am out and about. Parties are for pop and boring water. Or maybe the occasional spicy tomato juice, no alcohol included. The feeling of satisfaction was not always there – but no hangovers either. ๐
Fast forward all those years when kombucha entered my life – and my social life got a makeover worth telling about!
This probiotic drink is good for us but it is also tasty and gives that satisfaction not many non-alcoholic drinks would deliver. Have I mentioned the options are endless and they are so easy to put together that I now drink a fancy mocktail almost every night of the week?
For this one, I mixed our seasonal Spicy Blackberry Margarita kombucha with tons of ice and our grapefruit water kefir, added a lime and a mint leaf for decoration and that was it. Done.
The colour is so intense and the flavour has a bit of a punch from the jalapeno and cayenne pepper. The water kefir removes some of the kombucha acidity without dramatically changing the flavour.
The result is a colourful drink that doesn’t compromise in flavour and satisfaction, and will not leave you tipsy after a full glass.
